What is Sanathana Sarathi?

Sanathana Sarathi is a monthly spiritual journal initiated by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba on 16th Feb 1958, during the occasion of Maha Shivarathri, and has since been serving as the Beacon Light, disseminating Bhagawan’s Words of Wisdom. The Journal is aimed at the moral and spiritual uplift of humanity through Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love and Non-Violence. 

 

In what languages is Sanathana Sarathi available?

Sanathana Sarathi is published in English and Telugu by Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Trust, Publications Division from Prasanthi Nilayam. The journal is also available in different Indian languages, namely, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Sindhi and Tamil, printed and published by the respective State Organisations/Publications Trusts.

The English Edition with 32 pages is printed in multicolor imported art paper and is printed in four colours. The Telugu Edition has 40 pages, printed in maplitho paper. The English edition is posted on the 1st of every month and the Telugu edition on the 23rd of previous month.

 

What is the subscription rate for Sanathana Sarathi?

Subscription for English and Telugu are accepted for a minimum of one year and maximum of three years. The rates are as follows:

How do I subscribe to Sanathana Sarathi?

  • Subscription is available online. To subscribe, one needs to be a registered member. Register with an active e-mail address and a suitable password. Upon registration, you will receive an activation link  via e-mail. Upon clicking the activation link you will be permitted to subscribe/ renew English/Telugu version of the magazine.

Submission of these details along with acceptance of Terms & Conditions takes you to the secured Payment Gateway where you can make payment for subscriptions with a Credit Card/ Select Debit Cards. Only Master and VISA cards are accepted.
New as well as renewal subscription process is explained below;

 

i) New Subscription

When  you opt for  New  subscription,  A fresh  subscription will be  sent  at the  filled  Ship  To  address. Number of copies, Language and  Period  will be as per the information entered by the user.

 

ii) How can I renew my subscription, I know my subscription number. 
Click  the  check box  ‘  I  know my subscription number  and then  click  on check  availability just below the  subscription number  field.  Verification process will start and  in just few  seconds it will  output the end date  of  existing  subscription for the  language  and  the magazine  selected.  Depending   on the  End  date  ,  user will be  able to  extend  the subscription for a  period not more than  40 months  than current  system date . If Subscription number is not  found by the verification process  then user will  receive the   then user will have to  enter the  subscription as  a new  one.

 

iii) How can I renew my subscription, when I can’t recall my subscription number? 
When user  does  not know the subscription number  but has been receiving the  Telugu / English version of the magazine  then after  entering  all data    , press  submit without clicking the  Check  box , ‘ I  know my subscription number  ‘ , Then  we get  Subscription number  request from the user and after  a while   we  shall send  you the  subscription number via return  email at  your  log in email  id. Use  this subscription number  and proceed ahead  with  renewal process  as explained in ii) above.

 

Are gift subscriptions permitted?
It is available. In the subscription page click on “billing address is different from shipping address”, You may furnish the Shipping Address of the proposed recipient and the your details under Billing address.

 

How do I subscribe to the magazine if I do not use internet?
Those who do not avail internet facility, can send their correspondence addressed to Convener, Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Trust, Publications Division, Prasanthi Nilayam, Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh 515134 with name, complete postal address (door no., street, post box no., city, state, pin/zip code and country in capitals enclosing payment instruments in favour of The Convener, Sri Sathya Sadhana Trust, Publications Division, Prasanthi Nilayam mentioning language opted (English and Telugu only).
Remittance details are as follows:-

 

Inland:  Subscription can be paid through Indian Money Order, Postal Orders, Bank Draft drawn in favour of The Convener, Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Trust, Prasanthi Nilayam.
Please note that subscriptions for Inland and Overseas can also be paid in person through the counters in Prasanthi Nilayam, Brindavan (Whitefield, Bangalore) or at the Head Quarters of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations in various Indian States against proper receipt.

 

Overseas: Subscription can be paid through International Money Orders, Bank Drafts, British Postal Orders, Personal Cheques. Please note that Indian Rupee Instruments forwarded should be payable in India only. Instruments in freely convertible foreign currency should be drawn payable in the capital city, main commercial city of the country, in whose currency it is drawn. Instruments which are drawn payable in other places will attract charges from the overseas bank/postal authorities resulting in insufficient funds for subscription. Please ensure that instruments drawn in convertible foreign currencies are payable without any deduction of charges. (e.g., USD instruments payable in New York, Sterling instruments payable in London, U.K., Euro instrument payable in Hamburg, Germany).

 

Note: Although remittance by cheque is acceptable provided Rs.40/- added toward bank charges, it is preferable to send a Demand Draft to facilitate early clearing of the payment. Banks    delay in giving credit in case of cheques.

 

Which currencies are accepted?
Indian Rupees, Euro, US Dollar, UK Sterling Pounds are preferred by our bankers and hence these currencies are desirable considering the banking and exchange facilities available at Prasanthi Nilayam.  

 

Is life subscription available for Sanathana Sarathi? What if I send excess money for subscription more than required for maximum period of 3 years?
Life subscription is not available for Sanathana Sarathi. As  per our policy, Subscriptions  are   given for  3  years  from current  date and  in case of renewals it is  40 months (maximum permissible)  from the  system date.  Any excess  money received  ( off line  transactions  )  will be credited to a  user ledger account  which  can be  used   by  user  for  Sathya Sai publications  of  Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Trust – Publications  division. 

 

Is it possible to extend the subscription by the number of issues missed (not received)?
In case of non-receipt of the journal, subscriptions would not be extended reciprocally for the missing/lapsed period.
If not received, you are advised to intimate the same via email to: subscriptions@sssbpt.org to enable the office to verify and do the needful.
Necessary action will be taken upon verification. If it is found that copies have been dispatched as per the schedule, the party will be sent an electronic version(s) of the missing copy(s) with a request to verify with the local post office; and if the copies have not been dispatched as per schedule, missing copy(s) will be sent to the party without further delay.

 

How do I change my postal address?
Those who opt to change it online can do so in his or her “My Profile”.  Pl send  an  email to us  informing us  about the  change for our official record We shall then  make changes in our database immediately. Send change  of address  details at  following subscriptions@sssbpt.org stating the change of address.

 

Is it permitted to change the address from Overseas to India and vice-versa for a temporary phase during the subscription period?
It is permitted to change the address from Overseas location to any Indian location, condition being, the same should be intimated to this office in advance quoting the subscription number and the proposed new address.
Please note that change of address from India to Overseas is permitted, condition being fulfilling the remittance of balance subscription fee.

 

Is change of language possible from English to Telugu and vice-versa?
At any point of time during the period of validity, change of language is possible between English and Telugu. As  the  rates are  different – Telugu Subscribers will have to  pay balance amount to  change language to  English.

 

When do I receive the print magazine every month?
The English edition is slated for posting on the 1st every  month and the Telugu version on the 23rd of previous month. Example  March  issue  of  English magazine is dispatched on 1 st march  whereas  March issue of Telugu version is dispatched on 23th February. Transit time within India is a week, and for overseas destinations the same should be 15 days. Devotees across the world may please take notice that as the magazine is sent for bulk posting at Prasanthi Nilayam Post Office, it does take some extra time at the Post Office for sorting before dispatching to various zones around the world, and hence slight delay at times.

 

When is the ‘e-Edition’ made available?
e-Edition  is  currently uploaded on test basis  and  we  do  not guarantee availability every month. However old issues  are  available in pdf  format  at  following link.

 

Does the e-Edition require a payment?
Yes, ‘e-Edition’ of Sanathana Sarathi is another mode of publication and is available as individual issues for download on payment.

 

Do I need to have a connection to the internet when reading the ‘e-Edition’?
The ‘e-Edition’ can be read online or downloaded for later use - even when a connection to the internet is not available.

 

Things to note:

 

For devotees from Canada:
Devotees from Canada may please avoid sending Canadian Postal Money Order in US Dollar denomination as heavy commission is charged by bankers on Canadian Postal Order and credit is  received after substantial delay of more than 3 months after we deposit the MO  in bank.
It is desirable to send remittance through Demand Draft either in Indian Rupees or in Canadian Dollars. For Canadian Postal Orders, Canada Postal Service will be deducting service charges, a minimum of 5 Canadian Dollars and hence it will be difficult to meet the demand fully. In case if you opt to remit in Canadian Postal Order, you may please remit Canadian Dollar 20. To  avoid all these  hassles  we recommend on line subscription process.

 

Do not combine Remittance:
Please do not combine Sanathana Sarathi subscriptions with payments for any other magazines. We accept subscriptions to Sanathana Sarathi- English and Telugu Language   only and any combined remittance for magazines namely Bal Vikas etc. are not acceptable and the instrument shall be returned. Bal Vikas magazine is published from Sathya Sai Organisation  Mumbai.

 

Literary Contribution:
Any literary contribution for publishing in Sanathana Sarathi can be sent to the Editor, Sanathana Sarathi,Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Trust - Publications Division, Prasanthi Nilayam 515134 or can be sent by mail at editor@sssbpt.org. The publisher reserves the right for final decision on these literary offerings.
